Gomti Ghat

Gomti Ghat

Gomti Ghat becomes the devotional hub of Dwarka. The river Gomti, though only a small body of water, is holy and at this place it merges into the Arabian Sea and its confluence is

held in great esteem. Bathing in the Gomti before entering the Dwarkadhish Temple is considered purifying, and we watched pilgrims enter the waters with pure devotion, muttering prayers and worshipping god.

The ghats are busy without being chaotic. Priests performing rituals, pilgrims sitting on the steps laying their clothes out to dry, and boats cluster along the edge of the river, waiting to ferry pilgrims across to Bet Dwarka so they can continue their journey. This is not just a place in Dwarka, rather, it is an experience.
