Madhavendra Palace
Built in the late 18th century by Sawai Madho Singh II, Madhavendra Palace lies within Nahargarh Fort. Unlike ceremonial palaces, it was intended as a private residential compound.
The palace is arranged around a central courtyard, encircled by nine nearly identical suites, historically thought to belong to the king’s queens. Each suite came equipped with its own kitchen, water system and ventilation — careful planning for privacy and sustainability.
