Rudabai Stepwell

One of the most pristine examples of the stepwell tradition of Gujarat, the Rudabai Stepwell constructed in the late 15th century, extends down over five intricately-carved levels, with the temperature dropping at each floor. Indian iconography is integrated with architectural vocabulary in the carvings that depict deities, celestial beings, floral and geometric motifs.
