Crossing Sudama Setu, the walk-bridge over the Gomti leads to serenity in the midst of town. Named after Sudama, Krishna’s childhood friend, the bridge has a symbolism of its own that is emotional—humility, friendship and grace. From the middle of the bridge, we gazed toward the ghats behind us and quieter shrines ahead of us, feeling the transition from a ritual to introspection.
On the far side, we noticed smaller temples and lesser-visited places. One such quiet, almost-forgotten shrine stands away from the main crowds. It is not ruined, but it is overlooked—and that neglect gives it an unexpected gravity. Standing there, Dwarka feels less ceremonial and more personal.
